How to Stir Fry Frozen String Beans
First, forget about blanching the frozen beans in some boiling water, it may seem easy but you end up draining almost all the vitamin C 😒.
Come closer and let me show you something fabulous...
Bring garlic, ginger, and shallots in a heating pan, add oil. Stir fry them for about 8 mins on medium-high heat.
You can now add your frozen string beans, increase the heat so that the pan doesn't cool down due to the frozen beans.
Stir thoroughly to let all the beans touch the pan, do this for about 1 min.
Sprinkle with just a little amount of bicarbonate of soda and stir again before covering.
The bicarbonate will quicken the cooking and maintain the green color of the beans.
Cook and keep on stirring now and then for about 8 mins, add the bell pepper, fold gently and cover for 4 more mins.
Stir again, season with pepper, cayenne pepper, and salt. Mix.
Cut off the heat, add the fresh herbs of your choice, sesame, and sunflower seeds.
Squeeze a half lemon juice on and fold everything together. Bravo! you've made an easy, yet very delicious, and healthy side dish of string beans.
I bet you'll love this frozen string beans recipe, tell me how it tastes on the comments.
