Hi hi my dear, are you okay this morning? (it's 5 am as I write this post). I want to surprise you with this anti-inflammatory banana smoothie with spinach for your breakfast!

"What! Spinach for breakfast? You must be joking or something!"

Oh no, you don't like spinach! That is my mission this morning... to make you fall in love with this spinach smoothie.

But assure me, you love mango my dear, don't you? Otherwise, my mission might be quite complicated!

Stretch yourself up, wake up slowly, am in the kitchen fixing you some anti-inflammatory banana smoothie with spinach for you.

I can hear that little voice in your head, " aah, spinach are anti-inflammatory or is it mango?"

Both my dear, they are.

Spinach in Anti-inflammatory Smoothies

Actually, spinach is considered as a functional food (in the science literature) due to its nutritional density. Spinach has phytochemicals that considered as anti-cancer, anti-obesity, and anti-inflammatory.

I know you've been told to take spinach for their Iron, but I am going to convince you to love them for their antioxidants which will help you kick that inflammation that's making your life miserable.

I'll add that spinach have a very high amount of vitamin K than Iron. One serving of spinach gives the recommended daily amount of vitamin K. Beside regulating Calcium and blood clotting, vitamin K is essential in your bone health and it decreases the risk of you having bone fractures.

Spinach also holds high levels of Magnesium, which will help you feel less fatigue (very common in RA). So it really helps alleviate your inflammation.

Now listen to this one,
Spinach curbs food intake by promoting secretion of satiety hormones!

This is awesome, don't you find?, knowing that to keep the appropriate weight with Rheumatoid Arthritis is not an easy thing especially when you're on medication.

Mango

Your smoothie is almost done, time to chop this mango!

Mango is just that fruit you MUST fall in love with, point!
I love it! the scent of a riped mango can just make you start dancing, singing…..whatever! It just creates a happy mood.

{(when I was purchasing my mango yesterday in the market for this anti-inflammatory smoothie, there was this vendor who had very beautiful mangoes that were almost calling my name, the price tag was 8.90 euros/piece! I asked the vendor; "Are you sure you didn't make a mistake with the price?" He told me, "Mum, these mangoes came by plane, they were picked while riped, that's why the price is high"
I find it hilarious! 8.90 euros for a piece of mango!!! The farmers back I don't know where are exploited, being paid too little……too much injustice in this life! rrrgg!)}

Sorry, what was I saying?

Mangoes have anti-inflammatory properties, and they also help in preventing colon, breast, and prostate cancer.

Eat a mango a day and say bye bye to constipation.

Consumption of mangoes increases some beneficial microbiome, that will improve your health in general.

There we go,

I really hope that my mission to make you love this spinach smoothie is accomplished.

Enjoy this anti-inflammatory smoothie, I added some bananas and orange juice to boost the antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and also to make it yummy for you. Bananas also make this smoothie creamy.

Just to tell you how sweet this banana smoothie is, my daughter of 6 yrs drunk 3 glasses. My son classified it as one of my best smoothies.

I am sure you'll love it and it will help you feel much better soon. Because you'll be making more of this banana smoothie, I promise you.

For my kids' sake, who don't like very cold smoothies, we opt for fresh fruits, especially in winter. Feel free to use some frozen fruits for a more creamy texture.
Till next, be sweet.

I Love you, Githu.
