Spice up your morning with irresistible ginger drink

Are you looking for a warm (alternative to coffee) morning beverage that will offer antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties as well as support your immune system as you kick-start your day? Look no further than this delightful combination of ginger, lemon, and oranges.

This warm drink is not only nourishing but also boasts numerous health benefits. Ginger, for example, reduces inflammation, soothes sore throats, and helps calm digestive issues.

Lemon is chock-full of vitamin C, which helps boost the immune system and fight colds. Oranges are also high in vitamins A and C, essential for maintaining healthy skin and eyes.

As a holistic coach, I often get asked, "What can I drink in the morning that's not a smoothie, an alternative to coffee, milk, or tea?

I drink warm lemon water first thing in the morning. In the next hour, I prepare this warm ginger, lemon, and orange beverage when citrus fruits are in season.

It calls for whole fruits, but I also use peels, so I like using organic produce.

Why choose ginger, orange, and lemon?

Every sip of this ginger drink contains vitamins A, B6, B9, and C, as well as minerals like copper, magnesium, manganese, and potassium.

Empower your body with your morning drink by offering it carotenoids, hesperidin, gingerols, shogaols, quercetin, and kaempferol, all of which have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

This trio forms a powerhouse of immune-boosting nutrients, dietary fiber, and numerous health benefits.

  • Ginger, renowned for its anti-inflammatory properties, has long been used to aid digestion and nausea.
  • Lemon is vitamin C-rich and a potent anticancer and antimicrobial, while orange offers its sweetness, tocopherol (vitamin E), polyphenols, and flavonoids.

Incorporating this invigorating blend into your morning routine can help you reduce flu, protect eye macular degeneration, and improve your health if you are dealing with health issues.

Embrace the zesty

The taste of ginger adds a spicy kick to the drink, while lemon and orange provide a tangy and refreshing flavor. I like adding a large amount of ginger; if you are familiar with ginger shots, this beverage will take you almost home!

If you're starting with ginger, use only a tiny piece and build up your taste. Peel both fruits because the peels make the beverage a bit bitter.

However, citrus peels are gorged with micronutrients like flavonoids, polyphenols, and dietary fibers. Also, they contain minerals, carotenoids, and essential oils. Citrus peels are a powerhouse of Vitamin C and antioxidants. They have anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties.

In general, citrus flavonoids are more abundant in the pericarp (the membrane between the skin and the pulp) than in the edible parts.

Why I love it

As you sip on a warm mug of ginger, lemon, and orange drink, the warmth of the beverage awakens your body, mind, and soul.

  1. It's a simple warming beverage with antioxidants, perfect for nourishing your body.
  2. Combining ginger, lemon, and orange offers many health benefits, such as boosting the immune system and reducing inflammation.
  3. The drink is easy to make and can be customized to suit your taste by adjusting the amount of ginger, lemon, and orange used.
  4. It can be a great alternative to coffee, tea, or milk.
  5. Its warm and spicy flavor can help you feel energized, especially when you have some workload.
  6. It can be an excellent remedy for soar throat or cold.

A Simple recipe for maximum benefits

Creating this immune-boosting beverage is as effortless.

  1. Begin by warming (not boiling) water. Boiled water will destroy the nutrients like vitamin C and antioxidants.
  2. Clean the fruits and cut them into halves. See the instructions on the recipe card.
  3. Put everything in a blend and blend at a high speed but for a few seconds. If your blend has a heating option, skip the 1st step.
  4. Depending on your blender's speed, you can serve this warm ginger-lemon drink without straining.

Voila! Your morning boost is ready to enjoy. Serve the warm, fragrant beverage in a mug (you can add some honey for sweetness and antimicrobial properties) and savor.

Whether you're managing a chronic condition or simply seeking to prioritize your health, incorporating this ginger orange lemon beverage into your morning routine can be a small yet significant step toward holistic well-being. Embrace its warmth and the possibilities of healing that each sip brings.

Remember, you've got the power to heal yourself, Githu.
