This green banana is super creamy, vegan, and nut-free. An alternative to heavy or nut creams. A budget-friendly healthy cream that will amaze you.

Hi hi, it's early dawn here, I can hear the birds starting to sing and the dark clouds give space to the first rays of golden Sunrise. Just the right time for me to share with you this vegan creamy green banana sauce recipe.

Not that you need it for your breakfast! hahahaha.

But I am kinda thinking that maybe green bananas should be in your shopping list this weekend. Because girl you must-try-this super creamy green banana sauce.

My daughter who has never eaten meat in her entire life of 8 years says that this creamy green banana sauce tastes like meat, talk of incarnation hahahaha ( maybe in her previous life she was a great meat eater hahahaha)
Gosh!….. it's 5 am and am laughing here all by myself…

vegan sauce

Back to this vegan green banana sauce recipe. If you have no idea of what am talking about when I mention green bananas, they are unripened bananas.

You can buy them mostly from African-Asian groceries shops.

Green bananas are very high in resistant starch, actually, they're prebiotics. Meaning that you can NOT digest them but your microbiome will have a good feast when you consume green bananas and other prebiotics food for that matter.

Now you are asking, "why on earth should I eat something that I can't digest?"

Because you have to feed your microbiome which in turn will promote your health and help you fight off diseases caused by chronic inflammation. Do you see, transactions started long way before we commercially got involved hahahahaha.

vegan sauce, green banana recipes

This creamy green banana sauce recipe carries its name so well, it's indeed creamy, delicious, and it's so easy to make it.

You can opt to just boil everything in a saucepan skipping the frying part, to quicken the process.

But what makes this vegan cream sauce so creamy and delicious is that time you let the green banana stick a little and caramelize in a saucepan. Also letting the spices heat on their own creates the flavor that you won't get with the boiling option.

Peeling off green banana can be a messy thing to do as the banana do stick on your hands. To avoid this, Store your green bananas wrapped in the fridge. Take them out and use them immediately.

We use our creamy green banana sauce on almost everything, I mean in our dishes. I use it in these lettuce wraps, in this zucchini pasta, on this sweet potato salad.

We find it very delicious on pasta, quinoa bowl, rice, and with steamed or roasted potatoes.
I add it to cooking veggies when I want to thicken the sauce.

What I find so amazing about this vegan sauce, is the fact that the flavor isn't that pronounced. So it can go with almost everything, I even do scoop some in my raw salads.

Once cooked, blended, and cooled, pour your creamy banana sauce in a jar, store it in your fridge, and use it up to 10 days.

Much love from me, Githu.

I want to make this recipe - just to be clear, will green Central American bananas not work? And if not, the Asian market near me has quite a few types of banana, though they are mostly Pacific Rim like Cambodian, as well as plantains - is there a particular type to look for? Thank you!

Hi Beth. This sauce calls for the classic bananas while they are not ripe but in their raw state. Plantains are sugared, and even so, I've never tried them in this green banana sauce, I've to admit.
The Central American bananas will work well as long as they are totally green and firm.
Looking forward to reading from you. Please reach out with any questions. This recipe is unique on the internet, and I am excited that you are trying it out. Thank you, Beth.

I have been enjoying something similar to your recipe and was told to only have 2 tablespoons per day.

I am interested in trying your recipe and I am interested in your feedback about how much I can have per day. Because I would like to have more, but I am new to enjoying green bananas, And want to know more about it.
      Thank you,
      Fran Pan

Hi Pan, I'm glad that you found this recipe. Regarding the amount you should take, I should start by asking you if you have any gut issues? If not, green bananas are great as food just like potatoes or yarm. They have special fiber (prebiotic) that specifically feeds the good gut microbiome. So, the thing here for you is to know whether you have digestion issues that demands reduction of high-fiber foods. This recipe includes onions, which are also prebiotic.
I hope this helps, otherwise, let me know if you have more questions. Happy New Year.

Hi Anusuya, glad you asked. I've never tried freezing this sauce. I suggest you try freezing a little amount to experience. I'll do so on my side and add the comment here. Happy New Year
