How to Relieve Tooth Pain Fast? Effective Hacks!

By Githu: Nutrition Coach

Tooth Abscess Pain Relief Fast: Great Hacks!

A sharp tooth pain can keep you on your toes, making you groan. Tooth pain can be unbearable, especially when you can’t get a doctor’s appointment at short notice. You keep tossing and turning in pain with no escape at all. On the other hand, some people don’t like going to the dentist because it gives them anxiety.

Tooth pain can be due to various reasons, such as poor hygiene or inflammation. You can deal with tooth pain at home using some remedies that work like magic. Dive into the article to learn about some of the best remedies to help you instantly eliminate the pain!

Home Remedies to Get Rid of Tooth Pain!

Tooth pain because of acute inflammation is easy to eliminate; you must be consistent with the remedies below. The remedies below are doable and work like magic to eliminate tooth pain. Here are some:

  1. Use Hydrogen Peroxide

Many think hydrogen peroxide is a tooth-whitening agent and doesn’t do much for pain. However, you are mistaken if you think the same because hydrogen peroxide has antibacterial properties that help prevent bacterial growth. If you are in a lot of pain and don’t know which medications to take, try hydrogen peroxide.

While saltwater releases toothaches, hydrogen peroxide is even better. It directly targets bacterial infestation and kills it to ease the pain. Mix two tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide with equal parts of water. Take a mouthful of the solution and squish it around your mouth before spitting it. You can do this remedy twice daily to eliminate bacterial build-up and pain.

2. The Baking Soda Hack

The baking soda hack is the most effective way to remove tooth abscesses and pain. Most people don’t know how effective baking soda is for toothache. Mostly, people use baking soda to whiten their teeth, but it is also a great remedy to stop infections.

Baking soda helps balance the pH levels in your mouth, restricting the infection from growing. It also keeps gingivitis at bay, keeping your teeth nice and white. You can use baking soda water as a mouthwash or add a pinch to the toothpaste. Adding baking soda to the toothpaste before brushing increases its effectiveness and helps whiten the teeth.

3. Cold Compress

A cold compress is not a permanent solution but can help ease the pain. Your face can swell up if you go through a bacterial infection in your mouth, creating uneasiness. If you have sharp tooth pain and cannot go to the dentist immediately, a cold or ice compress can help. It is best to numb the pain and help you get through it without groaning.

You can use a pack of frozen vegetables or stuff a bunch of ice in a zip-lock bag. Use the cold compress on the target area and keep doing it until the pain numbs. It is a temporary relief; hence, you might have to take medicine or go to the dentist the next day. If you have sensitivity to cold, you can wrap the cold compress in a towel to reduce its intensity.

4. Saltwater Gargles

One of the best things you can do to eliminate tooth inflammation is to gargle saltwater. They are the best to keep your teeth healthy and eliminate bacterial build-up. It also soothes the pain faster, allowing you to feel at ease until you can book a dentist’s appointment. Is excedrin anti-inflammatory? While you can take anti-inflammatory medication, they might take a few minutes to kick in. However, saltwater gargles work immediately and have many benefits you shouldn’t miss out on.

Add a glass of warm water, a few teaspoons of pink, or any salt available, and mix well. Take a mouthful of the saltwater and squish it around your mouth for a few hours before spitting. If you have too much pain, you can repeat this remedy twice a day to ease the pain faster.

5. Peppermint Tea

Peppermint tea is one of the best to soothe inflammation and promote healthy digestion. We bet you had no idea that peppermint tea can help with pain relief. Peppermint has natural numbing properties that can help soothe the pain faster than you think. You can suck on peppermint to help soothe the pain or use toothpaste with its extracts.

Most people also find peppermint tea helpful to soothe tooth pain and promote oral hygiene. On the other hand, you can also use peppermint tea bags to reduce swelling and inflammation. Don’t throw a peppermint tea bag after brewing the tea; freeze them and use them as a cold compress.

Final Verdict

Tooth pain is the worst of all, as it can make you restless all day. Some people also don’t have the energy to do anything on days when tooth pain is unbearable. A dentist is not always available at your disposal; hence, you need to know about a few remedies that would help. Make sure to try out the remedies in this article for faster pain relief!
