Equipment

  • sauté pan
  • Baking tin

Ingredients

For topping

  • 2 ½ rolled oats
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg powder
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3 tablespoon syrup or extra depending on your taste
  • 3 tablespoon thick peanut butter
  • 160 ml coconut cream

For filling

  • 10 small apples
  • 1 teaspoon ginger spice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon spice
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil in solid form
  • 1 cup coconut cream

Instructions

  • Heat your oven at 190°
  • Blend 2 cups of rolled oats to get oat flour and pour it in a big bowl
  • Add the other ingredients together with the remaining rolled oats and form a dough that's thick in texture
  • Cover the dough and set it aside
  • Slice your apples into thick wedges and put them in a sauté pan that can go in the oven
  • Sprinkle with ginger & cinnamon, add the coconut oil and cook them first at medium-high heat for about 8 mins
  • Pour the coconut cream, stir gently and cut off the heat
  • Break the dough into crumbles and spread them all over the apples
  • Put the sauté pan in the already hot oven and bake for 17 mins or until the crumbles are golden
  • Let the apple crisp cool and enjoy it while still warm
  • Thank you so much for pining this recipe

Notes

  • I used small apples so use a few if you have big size apples.
  • I use homemade peanut butter that's thick in texture, if you are using a flowing peanut butter consider using 4-5 spoons but then add the coconut cream gradually.
  • If you don't have a skillet/pan that can go the oven, then transfer your apples into a baking tin after adding coconut cream and bake till crumbles are golden.
