Ingredients

  • 1 cup quinoa
  • 1 ½ cups boiling water
  • pinch salt
  • pinch grounded cinnamon
  • pinch grounded ginger
  • 1 tbs Cold pressed olive oil

Instructions

  • Soak your quinoa for 12 hours
  • Drain and rinse thoroughly with clean water
  • In a heating saucepan, add cinnamon, ginger, and salt. Stir together well, then add the rinsed quinoa.
  • Pour the boiling water into the saucepan, and stir. Boil for 5 mins on high heat, then lower the heat to medium.
  • Cover the saucepan with parchment paper, then place a lid to cover. Leave the quinoa to simmer till cooked (about 10 minutes).
  • When the water is completely drained, remove from heat. 
  • Let the quinoa cool before adding the olive/coconut or any healthy oil.

Notes

Depending on your cooker, the heat might vary. Cooking with a gas cooker isn't the same as with an electric cooker and more so with induction. So please keep an eye on your quinoa.
