Heat your pan at high heat then put the groats
Toast the groats, and be careful not to burn them, low the heat if you see the groats becoming dark too fast
Toasting will take relatively 8 mins
During this time slice finely the pears
Add spices and salt, toast again for 2 mins
Add oil, stir well to make sure all groats are coated with oil toast for 2 mins
Add sugar and do the same, stir, stir and stir till all the groats are coated and the sugar starts sticking on the pan this will take about 5 mins
Add a splash of water, be very careful, the pan is very hot, so gather the groats on one side to make a heap, then pour some water, not all at once, stir, then repeat till you use all the water
Cut off the heat, add fruits of your choice and cover the pan. Here I used pears & passion fruit
Leave the crunchy caramelized buckwheat groats to cool for about 10 mins or more
Serve warm, enjoy.
