Clean the pomegranates
Roll them on a flat surface to make the skin soft and also to release the arils from the skin easily
Place the pomegranates on a chopping board
Using a sharp knife, cut around the top that looks like a crown and remove the top
You'll see that the pomegranate is divided by a white membrane, cut the skin following the membranes so that you don't cut the arils. (See the image on the post)
Put a large bowl in your sink, hold the now cut pomegranate in your hand, the open part facing the bowl so that arils will fall in the bowl
Using a rolling pin, a spatula, or a big spoon, hit the back of the pomegranate that is in your hand
Most of the arils will fall in the bowl, remove the rest with your fingers
Remove any pith (white membrane) that fell in the bowl with arils. They can make your juice bitter
If using a juicing machine, go ahead a make your juice
If using a blender, put the arils in the blender and pulse then blend at a high speed for a few seconds. Rince the bowl
Put a mesh strainer on the bowl and pour the juice from the blender.
Using a spatula or a spoon, filter the juice. Press hard on the residue on the mesh to get the maximum of the juice. Pour the pomegranate juice in a glass
If you have neither a juice machine nor a blender, then put the arils in a freezing bag,
Close the freezer bag making sure you remove as much air possible so that the bag doesn't burst
Using a rolling pin or your hands, press on the arils till they burst to release their juice
Once you are done pressing, carefully cut one edge of the freezer bag and pour the pomegranate juice in a glass.
Enjoy your freshly homemade pomegranate juice.
