Ingredients

  • 1 cup oats
  • ½ teaspoon ginger powder
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • sprinkle of salt
  • 1 ½ cups milk ( additional if you warm your oats in the morning)
  • 1 well-ripened mango
  • 1 passion fruit (optional but adds beautiful flavor)

Instructions

  • Put your pan on the heat moderate-high heat and add rolled oats
  • Let the oat toast as you keep on stirring
  • Add salt, cinnamon, and ginger and continue toasting
  • You'll capture the aroma of toasted oats, and it's going to start browning
  • I toast mine for about 7 minutes
  • Cut the heat and wait for 2 mins for the pan to cool down
  • Add milk, stir well and cover for the night
  • In the morning, if you choose to warm your oats, add some more milk if need be
  • Cut your mango into small bite-sizes and add them into the oats
  • If using passion fruit, put it and mix everything delicately
  • Serve immediately and nice breakfast!

Notes

We appreciate warm oats here, so I have to warm our toasted overnight oats. Feel free to  warm them especially during winter mornings.
However, if you don't mind cold breakfast, the in the evening while adding milk add 1 teaspoon of chia to make your oats creamy.
Unless it's very very hot where you are, you don't necessarily need to store the overnight oats in your fridge. Leave them on an airly kitchen counter for the night.
