Dark chocolate benefits
- Did you know that you can improve your brain memory and moods by eating dark chocolate?
- Dark chocolate has been shown to improve depression & anxiety, promoting calmness & contentedness,
- It has been considered as an anti-aging and anti-inflammatory,
- Dark chocolate increases blood flow in the brain,
- It regulates the genes responsible for your body weight,
- It can prevent cancer growth,
- It has antioxidants.
How to choose the best dark chocolate
- The best dark chocolate should be the one with no sugar which is 100° cacao but's quite bitter to my taste.
- Choose dark chocolate from 70° of cacao and above.
- Chocolate with less cacao has more sugar and hence less healing (healthy) benefits.
- Ideally, it would be better if you found raw cacao chocolate.
- If the first ingredient in a chocolate bar is sugar, turn your heels and run away from that chocolate 🏃♀️
- To maximize the benefits of dark chocolate, serve it with some fruits like pomegranate arils.

I don't add any sweetener to my quinoa breakfast bowl, feel free to add some honey, maple/agave syrup, or coconut sugar. However, there'll be no logic to use healthy dark chocolate and then add white sugar🙄.
You can omit raw cacao and use only the dark chocolate, inversely, you can use raw cacao and leave out the dark chocolate. I use both for their healing purpose, not that I am a huge fan of chocolate.
Did you notice that I am referring to cacao and not cocoa? That's because they're two different things even if they both come from the same plants. What differs is how they're processed.
- Cacao has more health benefits since it is not subjected to high heat during the fat extraction.
- Cacao is bitter than cocoa.
- Cocoa, on the other hand, has been heated at high temperatures, thus destroying antioxidants and nutrients.
- It's sweet because it has been alkalized to neutralize their acidity.
Now you can go on and make this dark chocolate quinoa bowl for your breakfast, I am sure you'll love it.
